What caught my eye was the ad copy. Seriously? Does this guy think that this diatribe is the best way to sell his boat? He mentions his psychologist and I think he needs to spend a lot more time there; he sounds a little unstable to me. So, tell me, do any of you read this ad and think, "Yeah! That's the kind of guy that I want to buy a boat from!"?
I can picture the future headlines. Not only that, I can FEEL it!

Not a boat, but sorta on topic

Subject: Dog With A Chinese Name...

A Dog With A Chinese Name...
Whether you own a dog or not, you must appreciate the efforts of this owner to sell her dog. Look at the picture and then read the sales pitch below.

Dog For Sale.
Free to good home.
Excellent guard dog.
Owner cannot afford to feed 'Jethro' anymore, as there are no more drug pushers, thieves, murderers, or molesters left in the neighborhood for him to eat.
Most of them knew Jethro only by his Chinese street name, 'Ho Lee Fuk'!

It was good. Real good. But not the best.

I suggest that _this_ is the best craigslist ad of all time:

best of craigslist: 27' Sailboat - Ocean view and other benefits

For those that are not aware of SoCal stuff, a few explanations make that ad understandable:
1. Garibaldi are gold-colored fish. Not legal to fish. Very plentiful on Catalina Island
2. A "Buffalo Milk" is a drink that originated at Two Harbors, Catalina. They taste like a alcoholic milkshake, but in a very good way.

Re: Post the Worst "For Sale" Picture You've Seen.

Actually this is the best CL ad ever.

Two years ago, I got this mower from the "free stuff" section here. The prior owner had purchased it new, yet the mower mysteriously quit working after just a few cuts. In an effort to fix his shnazzy new machine, he replaced nearly every part, as is evidenced by the box of extra components (that I've only added to). Nothing worked, so the kind fellow (possibly Satan's minion) gave it away. Me, a former atheist who thought himself savvy with electronics, picked it up. I narrowed the problem down to one of the few remaining components that hadn't been replaced. No dice, swapping it out did nothing, it was money down the drain. I went on to replace
everything else. It should work! EVERYTHING HAS BEEN REPLACED, ALL OF IT!!!
Why, why, why is this happening?!?!?! My fragile ego has been destroyed, and life will never be the same. My court-appointed therapist insists that I do not put any more effort into this torturous device, besides, I've moved on to
wallpapering every room of my house with pages from the bible.
Here's the thing, the motor works, the two batteries hold a charge, and everything else checks out, BUT IT WILL NOT RUN! AAHHHHHH#$%@$%!!! If you have a few goats to sacrifice and the time to troubleshoot this spawn of Satan, or maybe just wire your own switch and circuit into it (not advised under a full moon), the mower will work. I don't mean work as in cut your grass, I mean work as in the spell it will put on you and your loved ones. You will be overcome!
Muahahahahaaaa yehehehessss-s-s-ssss!!!
Take the mower... take it! Includes:Neuton EM 5.1 Mower Manual and Paperwork, 2 Batteries and Chargers, Clipping Collection Bag, Enough Extra Parts to Build a Second Mower,Gray Hair, Loud Cursing, and Dismay, The Ability to Spin Your Head 360 Degrees. The mower has to go to someone who knows what they're doing with electronics and has strong ties to the church, because I'm not stupid (up for debate after this venture), nor was the previous owner, yet we both ended up in need of a priest. This is a $700 mower, with $200 in extra parts, at and least 1.2 million dollars worth of invested labor. For free! My only request is that you share what the problem was, and pray for my salvation.
Also, you have to agree not to give Neuton any more money, albeit for parts or service, they've already made enough off of their deal with the devil.
Can meet in 4-Corners or Belgrade, in the parking lot of your choice. Bring
holy water. I may just drive by and throw the mower out of the car at 70 miles an hour. If your life is easy and you smile too often, I can change that, just send over an email.

I didn't understand your post until I clicked on the link. That is truly bizarre. Maybe it's a bait and switch and when you pay for it, he/she hands you the model boat and takes off.

With those very nice model photos, and since it appears that the boom is stuffed into the quarterberth, I'm guessing massive project.

Bizzare.
