Just depends on what you are looking for in a boat

Oh, gawd. I worked for John at NW Kayaks for some time. Don't believe the hype, that guy is a JERK! I was the R&D department there for a while, what a nightmare. John builds boats that are unfair, just look at the front third of a Point Five for an egregious example. They are well built, we were doing infusion early days, but the design work is not so hot, and John pays others to design things he then puts his name on, after making a few "changes" to ruin it. The stories I could tell, like the time he set the shop on fire. Or the time he pissed off all his employees so bad that they all got together and pissed in his shampoo bottle (I'm innocent)! I wouldn't buy anything with his name on it...

??? Isn't that why he paid for it? So he could put his name on it?

Sure. I suppose you'd have to be part of that circle to get it. He's always had a lot of hype attached to the name because of his personal history. Just sayin, for a guy who blows his own horn so heavy, very little of what he produces is actually done by him. Watching him take advantage of dedicated employees while taking credit for their work becomes distasteful after a while, especially when he treats people like dirt after they make him rich.

Yup, appears to be from Canada eh! The Canadian flag and Port Credit Marine Surveys kind of give it away. We are very practical up here north of the border! Could double as the kid's play set.

Maybe that's what he was thinking.
Funny, I stared at this picture awaiting my browser to fully download its clarity.

Reminds me of how they used to film Doris Day. Smear Vasoline on the lens, then no one could tell she was 87.

Anyone know where this photo was taken or the name of the boat? It's a Macintosh/Mcintosh 47. Only 16 were built. The only one we know of that was lost was "Airwego" in Samoa a couple of years ago.

Navire Pacific Journey

We found this sad yacht with broken rudder, mast, keel and severe hull damage on the north shore of Savaii, Samoa. She struck the reef as she tried to enter the lagoon at night just two weeks before.

Yeah, that's Airwego. Reported here some time ago:

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...oto-41858.html

BTW, she did not try and enter at night, as reported.
