Pegasus 800 Fin Keel 26ft Volvo Penta Engine | eBay

"I wanted to have the engine overhauled this winter, and next winter I was intending to lift her out and do the hull. A friend in the marina suggested that I pull the injector and take it in to be serviced and tested. Against my better judgement, I agreed to pull the injector myself, and then took it to my friend for a quick inspection, before sending away to be serviced. He promptly informed me that the part I was holding was not an injector, but the fuel pump. I decided there and then to take no further part in the overhaul of the engine and engaged a reputable company in Peterhead to carry out the work.

The engine is now starting like a dream and runs real smooth, but the engineer was unable to get total control of the governor. You will be able to talk to the engineer if needed, but basically, he believes that when I removed the fuel pump, without disconnecting the linkage to the governor, I lost the linkage inside the engine. We sourced a new linkage, but he believes that the part lost is stuck down behind the counter weights of the governor, and therefore the only way to correct the problem is to take the governor out. Sounds easy, but the only way to get the governor out is to first disconnect the engine from the saildrive to allow access. The boat would also need to be out of the water for this!
LOL. I often break as much as I fix, but this one has even me beat!

Re: Post the Worst "For Sale" Picture You've Seen.

There's a 122' sloop for sale just down the dock from me. The first time I saw it I knew there were major issues with the boat and when I looked up the listing on line, I saw some of the worst photos I've ever seen of a boat trying to be sold. What was particularly attention grabbing was the photograph of the helm with a sack of garbage next to it. Or the shot of the galley with the cabinets open, revealing a nice inventory of fuel filters (what are fuel filters doing in the galley? On a 122' yacht?). See for yourself.

A picture of it in my mind would make it the best of the worst 'for sale' photos

This boat has a nice sky light to let in all the bright sunshine you'll experience during your cruise.
