Re: Ebooks or Paperbacks on Board and Why?

Huh. I would have thought "timely" would have been a few minutes before that...

Re: Ebooks or Paperbacks on Board and Why?

I'd be careful with buying books from Amazon. There is a court case going on where a lady got her account closed by Amazon and they wiped her kindle. Seems when you "buy" a book from them you are really only renting it.

I am pulling in all sorts of books these days and burning them to DVD and Blueray. I haven't yet bought a tablet and may not, I read on my PC at home or my laptop onboard (or rather will as I haven't even got a place to sit yet )

At first glance, that's what I understand-- Amazon licenses Kindle content, it does not sell it.

Whatever they do, they make it impossible for us to download any kindle books onto our phones here in Kuwait! And although I could download kindle books onto my WIndows 7 laptop, now I have a new fancy laptop (well, HWMO does) with Windows 8 I can't download a Kindle reader again. That has made me revert to ePub readers, which seem to come in a variety of guises for both Android and Windows, and makes synching much easier.
