Re: AIS with WiFi, NMEA 2000, 0183, usb

Looks like an interesting product.

Can't find the manual ?

Is there a configurable bridge/router between USB-WiFi-NMEA0183-NMEA2000 ?

What gets sent over WiFi ?

Ais only ?
NMEA0183 ?
NMEA2000 ? In what format ? Converted to NMEA0183 ? Raw ?

I'm hoping that they have included the functionality from their NMEA2000<->NMEA0183 gateway plus some routing functions in this package.

Hi, Sorry about the Manual - it is now on our page, HERE. I thought I'd put it there already!
At this stage the WIFI is AIS data, there is no multiplexing of anything from NMEA. The wifi transmission carries NMEA 0183. If you want the NMEA 2000< -> NMEA 0183 you need this adapter HERE
Happy to answer any questions
Cheers
Matt

As a dealer, perhaps you could suggest that they implement these functions.

Seems like they would already have the software from the adapter, and probably enough processing power to run it on the transponder.

As it stands, I would buy the Vesper XB8000 for less than $100. more.

Also, not everyone wants to Multiplex data to wifi, so here is a lower cost option. Price is INCLUDING freight.

Sorry, I did not see that WiFi was an optional extra. The price with WiFi is the same or more than the Vesper XB 8000, but without the NMEA data capabilities.

The NO-WiFi version is also more expensive than similar units by: SiTex and EmTrack.

I think they would have a good product if they could integrate the functionality of the NK-80 NMEA2000<->NMEA0183 gateway into the 108W. Lowering the prices wouldn't hurt either.

Working on that integration...
Remember the $799 USD includes freight to anywhere. Depending where a customer is, we may be able to improve the pricing. Further discounts for quatity, so if you ad your mates all want one, talk to me!
