Antares 44i Owners
Hi all. I have fallen in love with this boat, and I think I've finally exhausted all of the resources the web has to offer. Their site etc. If you could indulge my fantasy of living vigorously through you. What do you like or dislike about your Antares? Is there something that is unique worth mentioning but you've never seen it stated? Or any other tidbits you would like to share about this boat?

Lexam,
I am a new owner...boat in production, splashing later this year. I would be happy to answer any specific questions you may have...just let me know.

Thanks guys! I don't have many specifics about it. I just love the boat. One thing. Did you choose the ICW rig or the Non ICW rig? And do you know how much power you lose by using the ICW rig?

The ICW rig. At this point not really sure the larger rig is available...didn't ask frankly as the ICW is what we wanted.

Yeah I can't imagine going with the bigger rig, because I wouldn't want to limit myself, and it seems people are able to make ocean crossings fine with the smaller rig.

Yes one is going to be there. Not sure which one. Unfortunately my port of call is Kansas City, MO so Miami is a little ways away.
Oh but what I would give to get out of this snow.

Great, as it is about the only boat I have any real interest in right now.
Maybe a St Francis.
Wife - "I saw the card about he show."
Me - "Yea".
Wife - "Can we go?"
Me - "Why, we don't need anything."
Wife - "It will be fun. I want to go."
We are going.

Depends where you will be sailing. I have an FP Bahia 46. Its made for the Carribean. The rig height was something I neglected to consider. i do a lot of sailing up and down the east coast. After going around Cape Hatteras for the 3rd time- and getting beaten up every time, I had a rigger take 3 feet off the mast.

The pics on the site are better than I would be able to take.
Her sister is a totally different person.
