Yanmar New Ignition keys

Have only ONE ignition key.
When at a specialist to duplicate the key they all said they don't have that kind of key.
Where could I found a matrix to have the key duplicated

See if another Yanmar owner's key is identical. I thought the Yanmar keys were not unique for different engines and any generic Yanmar key would suit.

I ordered mine from my local SoCal yanmar distributer (Boatswain's Locker )
It was in-stock too

My yanmar 3gm30f has the large type instrument panel with key switch and push-start button. The key switch can be turned with just about anything that will fit into the keyslot. I've heard the same from other yanmar owners. Just try a padlock key, small screwdriver, etc. and see if it turns the switch on. I don't believe there are tumblers in the keyswitch.

Do you think they still have them and can sell to south Florida? Yanmar being so peculiar with their distribution zones!

Pretty sure the keys are generic, as posted above.

Replaced the ignition switch on a 1996 Yanmar 2GM last summer.

Key on the new switch was identical to the old one.

When the old switch crumbled in the cockpit, I WAS able to turn the engine over by inserting a screwdriver.

Depending on the age of your engine, they used either two or one key. The key for my new Yanmar looks like the key to the kinds of diaries they used to sell at Woolworth's. Contact any Yanmar dealer. Easy.

Contact Mastry. There's one in St. Pete and other places in Florida as well. Really, this is a non-problem.

We have a Catalina 47 with a Yanmar engine, but the engine panel is made by Seaward.

We bent one of the ignition keys and want extras when we went cruising.

Seaward provided those keys, when we gave them the serial number off the original keys.

I know a lot of Yanmar keys will work... Ask around...fellow just gave me his, as a spare, it worked.

'not expected, but just to confirm my thought that all the Yanmar keys were generic,- all the same. Knowing this can make the key an easy acquisition.
