Xantrex Truecharge 2 not charging

There's prolly one last, hidden screw behind a white small sticker. Prolly a "voids the warranty" strategy.

I have mine open, lots of evidence of serious failure. Looks like one bad resistor, one fried IC, and perhaps a bad small transformer. Not sure of the cascade failure path, any EE's care to comment?

Gonna try to repair this if I can find a schematic, to have as a back up.

Sure, but 8 replies in the last year. Clearly still some relevance. I just picked up a replacement 40 amp version, essentially brand new at my marina's spring yard sale. And I have this old broken one. I'll bet there are 100's still out there, broken or about to break, and if our discussion helps someone, now, or five years from now, how's that bad?? I found this thread by googling "xantrex", other will too, I'm sure.

I've just taken one apart and found a blown diode. Seems to be of considerable size but can't determine the amperage or volts.
Will be taking it down to the local electronics store tomorrow to get a replacement diode and hopefully that sorts it.
I know it's an old post, but I just joined and wrote this in case it may help someone out.
