Which Charger

Live aboard 42' with 24 volt system. I have 4 12 volt batteries making two banks. Currently have a very old Newmar 50 amp charger. it seems this is not a "smart" charger. Looking at Iota but note they are single bank. Do I need two? Or can it be connected to the battery switch.
Also is there a way to measure the output on the Newmar to see if it provides a float charge?
Sorry for my lack if knowledge

Re: Which charger

your very old newmar may be a transformer and charger and galvanic isolator all in one
make sure before you remove it that you replace all thevcomponents instead of just the charger part..
