What are the Pilot and Polarity Lights on My AC Panel for?

On my AC distribution panel there are two light. One says 'Pilot' and the other 'Polarity'.

What are these two lights for? I'm assuming the polarity light is a hot/neutral reversal warning indicator for the shore power supply but i'm not sure if thats true. The pilot light i have no clue and am a little concerned because it flashes red when i turn on the shore AC power breaker. Is the pilot light just an indicator light that the AC panel is getting power to it?

Anyone confirm what these are for?

Pilot should be illuminated when there is power from shore.

Polarity will only illuminate if the neutral wire becomes hot relative to ground. It's generally considered a dangerous fault condition, but occasionally you may see a faint glow when the shore cord is heavily loaded. The latter is due to voltage drop (actually voltage rise) of the current carrying neutral wire.

I have never seen the word pilot used but having a power available light, and a reverse polarity light is normal for most ac panels.
