Westerbeke 6BTD Automatic Cut Out Problem ?

Have just bought a boat with a Westerbeke generator that was running fine.

Changed the oil and filter today and the engine now won't keep running. It starts OK with the Pre-Heat switch held down but as soon as the pre-heat switch is released the engine stops running (even when keeping switch depressed for recommended few seconds before release).

The literature states the pre-heat switch, when depressed, over-rides the automatic cut out which monitors Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Exhaust Temp. The Oil pressure Guage shows oil pressure to be within limits and even keeping the pre-heat switch depressed for up to 30 seconds doesn't help.

I would love to hear from anybody out there who has encountered this problem before.

No need for any responses. When changing the oil filter I had broken one of the electrical contacts on the oil pressure switch, but it was hard to spot.
