Victron VRM Remote Monitoring Results

On the boat with the new house battery bank (http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...os-186872.html) I installed a Victron BMV-702 battery monitor and a Color Control GX. One of the features of the CCGX is the ability to log battery data over time and upload to a Victron website for viewing. Attached are a couple of images from the first week's worth of data. It really lets you see what is happening with the batteries.

Does anybody else do any similar monitoring?

Ideally I would like to a number of other temperature and current sensors on the boat. And then graph them in a similar manner.

Do not confuse state of charge with state of capacity no monitor yet that I know of so state of capacity and I can guarantee you that your state of capacity is deteriorating because the charge voltage never exceeds 14.4 volts. If you wish to recover lost capacity on a discharge charge cyclical basis you must get the voltage over 14.4 volt which is a minimum not a maximum

Good point, I need to add running the charger equalisation cycle on a periodic basis to the operational procedures.

On a related note, the latest data showed a gradually declining state of charge, as the generator was not being run long enough to give a full re-charge. Then one day, the voltage hit 13.2V, which is the default trigger to a reset of the state-of-charge, so it jumped to 100%. I'm not actually convinced the batteries were fully charged at that point; a jump from 75% to 100% is a little suspicious.

And adding fuel to the fire, I also have a SmartGauge connected, and the following day it was showing 70% state-of-charge, while the Victron was showing 95%.

Too much conflicting data.

On the good side, I found the temperature data...
