Victron Cyrix advice

I have the following setup:
  • Victron Quattro
  • 6 X 220ah house battery bank
  • 2 X Yanmar 120ah alternators
  • 12v and 220v via the Quattro Inverter

I am looking to connect up some Cyrix units to help charge the house battery bank. Not quite clear which model is needed or how many as the site says they can only charge 2 batteries each?

In case others come across this:
1 Cyrix for each alternator and needs to be the max size of current passing through - in my case 120 A

Re: Victron Cyrix advice

is your house batteries one bank?

do you have one house bank with 6 batteries and 2 start banks? and alternators going to each start bank? (probably to starter post)

1 House bank with 6 x 220ah
2 engines, 2 alternators, 2 starter batteries and 2 Cyrix relays

so you have 3 banks. wire a cyrix between each of the start batteries and the house bank. you need 2

ideally the alternators are rewired to the house bank. then the cyrix won't carry much current to the start batteries and size is less of an issue.

if you wire to engine batteries then the cyrix need to carry 120+ amps as most of the alt current will flow through it to house battery.

fuse alt circuits and cyrix circuits near batteries.
