Victron BMV-700 acting weird

just installed it on our 230AH housebank (AGM batts), negative side, directly on the bank.
Now it is reading only minus amps despite voltage going up to 14,28 when charger gets switched on (which means there have to be some "surplus" amps)
weirder still: when all consumers are switched off & charger gets switched on it shows negative amps...& I doubt that the charger is drawing current.
& it's not that pos & neg. amps are inverted: in hasn't shown any pos. amps so far
puzzled...

Your shunt is most likely installed incorrectly or you have "sneaker wires" bypassing the shunt..

Re: Victron BMV-700 acting weird

gentlemen, thank you for your contributions. "sneaker wire" indeed: the charger was wired to the opposite "ends" of the parallel connected batteries as the power takeoffs & so in fact bypassing the shunt - for everybody plain to see, but...
so current from the charger supporting a load would flow from the batterside of the shunt giving a negative amperage...
...yes ist's been a while now that I have been a pro...
