Trojan T-145 values for BVM

I have a bank of (8) Trojan T-145 batteries in a series parallel configuration. Im looking for the correct peukerts factor and also a CEF, (charge effeciency factor) to enter in my Victron BVM. I have seen peukert values from 1.13-1.15 but nothing specific from Trojan. Do I need to perform my own calculations for both of these inputs given I am using the batteries in a "bank"? If so im looking for a simple set of instructions for both keeping in mind we are ful time liveaboards with things like refridgeration that cant easily be shut down for long periods of time.

Thanks Gord I saw that one. Any thoughts on a CEF? Charge efficiency factor? Should be like 90% but I would like to be accurate. I'm also wondering if peukerts is influenced by the size of the bank?

This is data directly from Trojan. I keep it in my files for programming battery monitors. The Peukert calculators you find on the net that use RC do not often translate well to the actual manufacturer supplied Peukert..

6 Volt
T105 = 1.24
T-125 = 1.23
T-145 = 1.25
L-16H = 1.79

12 Volt
SCS-150 = 1.29 (group 24)
SCS-200 = 1.22 (group 27)
SCS-225 = 1.24 (group 31)

As noted, Trojan lists 89% Charge/Discharge Efficiency for their flooded batteries; and 98%/99% for Gel/AGMs.

Why I mentioned that those on-line calculators are not always accurate... I have asked Trojan on a few occasions to include this on data sheets or in the tech manual/users guide but I still don't see it. I'm sure if more people ask they will address this.

There is a big difference between a Peukert of 1.25 and 1.13.....

Thanks guys. Looks like for my bank of T-145's I should be using a CEF of 89% and a peukerts of 1.25.

I wish Trojans were cheaper. I plan on a new bank of 3. SCS 200, or 4 T-105 if they fit. Great batteries.

I use a 1.2 exponent on initial set-up for T-145's, then after 2 condition cycles I change it to 1.14. and it remains true, for about 4 years as long as the charge cycle is set up properly.

I have a friend, who worked for Trace when this anomaly first appeared. Trace was the first inverter manufacture to publish Peukert Factors for the major bats...manufact... sold in the NW. He confirmed that the bat test for the T-45's were an anomaly, but tested to 1.14 after condition cycle everytime.

I am on the second set of set of T-45's in my own boat, first set installed 2003. They were; 2X6X3 in parallel for 12 volt nominal. I am now on the second set two years, and they are balanced to the bat mon at 1.14.

We are just back from 45 days away from shore power, an 85 watt SP, and an 3.6 kw DC generator.

We have an update on my T-145's. They have been running for 305 days and have been through 25 charge cycles (according to my Mastervolt Shunt). We added solar and wind about 90 days ago but previously was relying on the alternator and 70 AMP charger.

We are using a peukert value of 1.25... the Mastervolt calculates the Charge Efficiency Factor and it is now at 94%.
