Stereo speaker cable connections

I can't figure out what kind of crimpers I need for these stereo speakers I installed. They look like quick connectors but they are smaller and two different sizes. They came with some really crappy ones.

Any suggestions? Hopefully I won't have to buy 20 of them.

Thanks!Click image for larger version

Think Out Of The Box TOOTB, just solder your wires.

I'd prefer not to solder.

Re: Stereo speaker cable connections

They are called SPADE TERMINALS. Available at your local auto parts store. It looks like those speakers use two sizes. Maybe 1/4" and 1/8"?

If you have a choice get the dull silver tinned ones rather than the bright shiny silver ones.

Correct, and the reason for two different sized spade terminals on stereo speakers is to make sure that you connect the wires the right way round. Connect them the opposite way and you get the two speakers cancelling each other out (out of phase). Make sure you put the correct terminator on the correct wire when you run it.

And make sure none of the wiring or the speakers are near the compass. :^)

Re: Stereo speaker cable connections

I bought a set of wiring harnesses that I hope have the right connectors on them. I'll cut the harness off and splice them in. I hope that works!

Re: Stereo speaker cable connections

Wal Mart spade connectors. Maybe $4. for a pack.

But I had a wire problem out to sea so I just twisted the wire thru the end and wrapped. Coated with liquid electrical tape and it worked so well I never replaced. 6 years later and going strong. I always carry liquid electrical tape. A must for that great seal. Happy listening...
