Solar Panel Output

Hi. Iv got another symple question for you all about my new solar system. I have a new 130 watt panel that is conected to a new Blue Sky 2512ix controller. I have the remote readout gauge that displays volts being produced and amps. The remote connected to the controller, shows that the panel is producing 8 amps, but my Link 10 battery monitor only shows 4 amps. Whats up with that? I want all 8 damnit.

Is it possible that the Link 10 unit is showing a "net" and that while you are getting 8 amps in there is something drawing 4 amps turned on on your boat?

This is precisely what's happening. If the fridge is drawing 4amps while the panel is producing 8, the Link 10 will show what the battery sees: a net charge of 4.

One of the ways I can tell when we're past bulk charging on the panels by mid morning is if I flip a line on and off the inbound amperage from the panel should change every so slightly with each switch flip.

No big deal switch all consumers off. The net will become the sol output. Otherwise one of the gauges is wrong or not programmed / calibrated.

Make sure that the photovoltaic system negative is attached to the load side of the shunt and not the battery negative side of the shunt else an error will occur with the Link10. There should be no other wires attached to the battery negative connections other than the shunt.
