It was a full moon a couple of nights ago, maybe tonight I'll set up a 20 watt panel I have lying around and hook it up to a 12 volt battery and set my fluke in series with one lead on a 300ma current setting and see what I get.
With only a 20 watt panel, I certainly won't expect 100 ma, but it's worth it just for fun.
Maybe someone else might want to try the experiment as well.

Good idea a practical test.
Make sure you get the leads the right way around as there may be a slight discharge if there is not a blocking diode.
It would also be worth measuring the Voc and reporting what it was under moonlight. That is the voltage the
solar panel is producing when disconnected from the
battery. This has to be above the battery voltage for any hope of any positive
current flowing.
BTW i am not disputing you saw 0.1A on the meter. I just do not think the meter was accurate.
