Solar mount

I have an idea for mounting a solar array and was looking for some help for finding one or if it could be fabbed. I have a 3 inch dia PVC mast on the back(aft) of the boat and want to attach a mount under the radar dome. I want to have two solar panels one on each side of the mast that fold up to use and down when not used. Hope not too vague. Any help would be appreciated.

A PVC mast, even 3", would seem to be a disaster waiting to happen if you mount anything with much weight and/or windage on it. A radar array and solar panels is a recipe for arriving at your first destination after having made a donation of the PVC post mounted gear to Davy Jones.

I'd want a minimum of 2" SS or larger aluminum for the post.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I thought about that too Rover. I may put them on the dodger. Just thought would be nice to keep them away from the Main.
