Shore Powered Battery Charger Location

Would there be an issue with putting my dual Battery charger in the battery compartment located under the last step on my 1972 Islander?

There is allot of room in there as it looks like it used to hold two batteries, however, I am guessing that batteries must be bigger now a days because there is no way I am going to get a 2nd on in there. Right now it holds my start battery.

Battery chargers generally have a cooling fan that, well, cools the electronic components. Bringing in cooling air with sulfuric acid vapor in it (assuming flooded batteries) will not extend the life of your battery charger. BTW, most charger operator's manuals caution about placing the charger above or near the batteries.

That is what I was wondering. Thanks for your reply. I guess I will put it somewhere else.
