Shore Power & GFCI outlets

Any Marine electricians out there?

Our two 110 outlet circuits have a CGFI outlet as the first device. I read a paper on marine electrical standards, and it stated the safety ground from the shore power goes (and connects) to the CGFI device and no further, and safety ground of the load outlets connect to the GCFI outlet, all downstream outlets and to the ships common ground. However, it also said the shore safety ground should not attach to the ships common ground. If both safety grounds attach to the CGFI device, are they not also connected to each other (and therefore to the ship's common ground?) (Ground is a common terminal.)

Re: Shore Power & GFCI outlets

GFI's have no effect or change to a boats wiring... everything just stays as it should

the ground entering and connecting depends if you have an isolation transformer or not. kinda sound like you are talking about an isotransformer and not GFCI...
