repair tape for flexible solar panel

Hi

Fourteen years ago I bought a flexible solar panel to keep the battery up on my West Wight Potter trailer-able. The cell still works fine, but the thread used to hold it together has gone away.

Any suggestions for any easy fix. Even UV rated duct tape disappears after a couple of years.

Thanks

Re: repair tape for flexible solar panel

Just use Tenara thread. Its guaranteed to last longer than what it sewed to

TENARA Sewing Thread is a long-lasting thread which enhances the life of the outdoor and marine products in which it is used. Conventional seam threads on awnings and other outdoor fabric products suffer from exposure to wind and weather. After a few years they can become brittle and break. In contrast, Tenara Sewing Thread is a thread you can really rely on: it does not deteriorate from exposure to the elements – not even when exposed to UV radiation!

A sail loft ought to be able to stitch it back together for you pretty quickly.
Tenara is also known as GoreTex.
Great stuff, but a bitch to sew with as it's so slippery that tension balance is difficult to achieve.
(And I repair sewing machines for a living)
