Recomendation winter time inv. batts

so as the boat sits idle from nov/march, and its visited couple times a week. would I be advised to disconnect shore power an switch to inverter for the several hours I may be around.

My thought is the agm bank wouldn't be sitting there fully charged for that long winter period? Its maintained with 24/7 charge ..... trying to prolong the life span of the batt bank. thanks

Only one example, but: my house bank (2 Deka g31 AGM's) sits all winter with all but the tiniest draws off most of the time, and the intelligent charger (Freedom 10) on. The first pair lasted through 11 summmers of cruising.

thanks, I have 8 agm's, on the bank, IM thinking they need to be pulled down some then the unit charger replaces as it monitors the bank continuous. they will run, the entire boat excluding heat.

we too have let this bank set idle in years past, with no obvious problems over the long haul. but just curious as to what those who have invested time in knowing the optimum use..
