Mu Honda 2000 will run about 30-45 minutes at slightly under 1500 watts before shutting down on over heat so the 1600 watt continuous is higher than on my own personal Honda 2000.
It even does this in the middle of the
winter. I have had it back to the dealer three times for this and they say it is working correctly and that the "continuous" rating is a guideline. Honda did squat to fix or back the products claims even after I called them and spoke with tech support twice and sent them
images of the
current draw..
In my mind I paid for 1600 watts continuous and only get 1500 for about 30-35 minutes in sub freezing temps not quite what I bought it for..
My guess is that the internal inverters vary slightly in temp range. Just don't count on 1600 in hot
weather, continuously, unless Honda has fixed the problem I have with mine. I would think many will do the 1600 but some, like mine, won't and one would think a great company like Honda would have tighter tolerances.
This shuts down my EU 2000 after about 30-35 minutes.
