I started having issues with my propane alarm going off. I have the Xintex s-2a unit. It was installed for about 4 years before I had any issues. Long story short, it was not a leak, it was one of the sensors that was the issue. I replaced it (SEEMED VERY EXPENSIVE!) and it has worked for another 2 year, no issues since.

These sensors are well known for failure and the only alternative once they start with false alarms is to replace it. We had a Xintex that would last about a year and we would have to replace it at about $35.00 each and my time. They will begin setting off the alarm occasionally and progressively get worse by doing it more often. Having said that, keep in mind that solvents, certain cleaners and your batteries gassing will also set them off.
