Pronautics 12-30P Showing 24/25 Volts Output

Hi. My Pronautics 12-30P has recently been showing a continuous output of around 24/25 Volts. It was previously normally around 13.5V or so once the AGM are in float.

There are no warning lights and the AGM batteries show 'green' in float etc .

We are connected to shore power.Everything appears to be normal and working ok other than the high Volts out indication.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this please? According to the manual there should be a red warning light ,but we do not have that.

Many thanks for any input.

Check output with a voltmeter ASAP; I'm assuming it is a display error and there is a new charger in your future

check at batteries and at charger output terminals.

if they were at 25v. likly your boat would already be on fire. so likly it's a display error.

Re: Pronautics 12-30P Showing 24/25 Volts Output

So the actual output V from the Pronautic was in fact ok when tested with the Multimeter.

The batteries are also ok.

After discussion with technical support, they advised me it was a V Meter problem in the unit.

It is still within the 5 year warranty period, however i bought the boat from the original purchaser of the unit ..so they will not fix or replace it .So a bit of shopping to start the New Year...

Thanks for the input everyone.

Yes never trust measurements from charge sources.

Calibrate regularly with a known - good DMM / Ammeter
