Portable Solar (Again)

We have been rethinking our power needs and have decided not to go for a full setup of solar power to meet all our needs but rather deplete the house over the weekend and recharge during the week.

We are "weekending" the boat and I calculate we use about 150 amps over 2 days. We want to "break" free from motoring to charge the batteries and I reckon we have all week to replenish the house bank.

We get excellent sun here at the equator and while we get 12 hours of sunlight year round I am planning for 8 hours of good sun per day. I am thinking we need 50W to charge up the batteries over 7 days.

I have located these two kits online which seems to fit our purpose.

RV Solar Panel Kit - 50 Watt Remote Power System

BP 50 Watt Marine Solar Kit :: Marine Solar Panel Kits :: Alter Systems On-line Shop - Go Green for Life™ ::

If anyone knows of similar 50W package deals or cheaper alternatives please let me know.

I will be in the US starting next week for 2 1/2 weeks and plan to drop ship to my brother's house.
