Re: Poll: What is the size of your solar array

6 x 265 watt panels thru two Flexmax 80 into 10 Odyssey 1800 batteries. My big driver is the CruiseRo water maker. It runs on AC from my Victron Multiplus (2) pulls 19 amps AC. I only need to run it every 3-4 days depending on crew size. The water maker puts a dent in the bank and then I slowly gain it back over the next few days. If needed, I run a Honda 2000 generator for a bit while making water, it allows me to almost break even with the water maker.

You generally don't drink the water straight out of the lake ,so instead of desalination you are generally cleaning the water . That said most boats have good access to fresh drinking water and are not fitted with water makers

Re: Poll: What is the size of your solar array

For fresh water a household reverse osmosis system will work. And they are much cheaper due to operating at low pressure.

Leaving the lake for the ocean. I do not need it on a lake.

It is interesting to see how the poll is showing almost evenly on either side of the 250-500 middle.

Re: Poll: What is the size of your solar array

Have 2 X 100 (200W total) Semi Flex panels mounted on bimini, going to MPPT controller feeding 360Ahrs bank. I do have another temporary 100W flex I can mount on deck if needed. My big load is the frig.
