One shunt two battery condition meters

I have a shunt which is used for a Xantrex linklite battery monitor. I also have purchased a remote display for a BlueSky Solar Boost 3024iL MPPT Controller which has a built in battery condition meter which requires the same size shunt. Is it ok to parallel the shunt wiring from the Xantrex linklite meter to the blue sky remote or do I need to put a second shunt in series with the original shunt and run separate wires to the blue sky remote display

Without a circuit diagram or tech specs its hard to say, most shunts input circuits are high impedance., so it should be alright.

They both use a 500A/50mV shunt. I was thinking of taking a twisted pair cable from the Xantrex inputs to the Blue sky remote shunt inputs.

If you want to track only the solar performance:

The Blue Sky battery side of the shunt is connected to the Link-Lite's load side of the shunt..

If you want to have two battery monitors then use the LinkLite's shunt and stack the small gauge shunt sense wires of the Blue Sky on top of the LinkLite shunt sense wires. You won't need two shunts in this case.

Connect one monitor up and then load up your circuit to get from a low to typical steady current draw. Attach the second meter's wires to the shunt temporarily and monitor 1) for smoke (just kidding) and 2) for an unacceptable change in reading. There may/will be some change, but it may not be enough to cause a problem. If this is the case then parallel away!

Rather than run the wires from the shunt I was thinking of just paralleling across from the linklite shunt input to the bluesky shunt input a distance of 200mm. Thanks for your input guys.

I don't know what you mean by "paralleling across"...? You can't have two shunts side by side both feeding the same bank or you will get Ah counting errors....

Continue the twisted pair wires from the linklite to the bluesky remote.

That could work.. I'd still prefer to see each remote have it's own set of sense wires run directly to the two small screws on the LinkLite shunt directly. There should be no measurable current carried on those mV drop sensing wires, so in theory it should be fine to continue them on. I would not daisy chain volt sensing or 12V power to each unit though......
