NOA clamps with large diameter

Hi!

Most marinas and web shops are selling the 25 mm in diameter NOA clamps here in Sweden.

We are however constructing a more solid arch on the aft of the boat.

We have to decide the diametre. We will build it from stainless steel tubes, it'll be bent and welded together by a professional welder, the drawring done by an architect. All good and well.

We were thinking 40 mm diameter of the tubes. Or should we go for 50 mm?

When checking for clamps for the solar panels, I found 38 mm diameter here:
Sea Teach | NOA - Solar panel mounts

So should we go for 38 mm tubing?

The NOA clamps are terribly expensive. Anybody know of a competitor in the business?

Cheers

Re: NOA clamps with large diameter

I had to buy a 24 and as you say the boaty ones are expensive. What I found were plastic split pipe clamps which you can also get with stainless backing plates. There are loads of suppliers of these in every country this is an example:

The beauty of these is that they also galvanically isolate the panel aluminium form stainless preventing corrosion.
These clamps are used by the thousands in process plant and are available in all standard pipe and tube sizes. Consequently they are cheap.

Thanks, found this:

Are these too weak to support a 100 W panel?:

If I use many perhaps?

Cheers
