I wonder how many years down the track before they get to common usage? (I mean us!)

Words don't mean anything until they can prove that what they are saying is true. I still remember all the talk about cold fusion.

It really would be nice if companies with miraculous discoveries announced them with an actual working model to accompany their pronouncements.

5000Ah from something the size of a fridge? Seems less than a Li Ion.

yes way not impressed...... LI-Ion density, maybe a little better. Whole lot more issues than density as well. Recharge time, discharge rates, charge management and assorted risks. Waiting for ceramic capacitive discharge devices like from EE-STOR. They claim to deliver three times or better the density and many times the charge rates.

Granted no one knows how to supply 13.5KVA to your boat, house, car or anywhere else for charge. But they claim to tank up 16KWH in 2 minutes. Now that would be amazing.

I think someone needs to design a battery that doubles as a keel. put all the weight down low! now that would be a neat trick. I think I may patent it!

The guys in the lab coats are the worker bees, the guys in the suits are management. You bet management will be the first ones to run for the hills taking all the companies investment capital and with them the second they find out that there is an investigation against them.

Seriously though, how many times has the press been duped by announcements of miraculous new technologies? When an independent group has the opportunity to test this thing out and they say its genuine then I will have a much less cynical view.

no, no, no... You missed this;

Ceramatec says its new generation of battery would deliver a continuous flow of 5 kilowatts of electricity over four hours, with 3,650 daily discharge/recharge cycles over 10 years.

Only have to do it every ten years!

On the keel battery idea. I posted that Idea earlier on a dream boat thread. Some other things I mentioned were easily replaceable plates that could be made with molds supplied with boat, solar cells embedded in all exposed surfaces to charge it and an electric propulsion system.
