Re: New batteries Antigua??

When we were in Bonaire, we bought 13 batteries from DC Battery, Miami DC Battery Specialists - Wholesale Batteries

They palletized them and shipped them via ocean freight for about $300 in freight charges. There was a regular freighter departing from Miami to several Caribbean islands every week.

Possibly this will help. But, St. Martin which is always great for boat parts and is less than 100 miles downwind from you. I am sure that St. Martin is still a duty free island.

If you are going to pay big $$ for shipping, look into LIFEPO4 batteries. They can ship NON-HAZMAT, and are lighter for the AH to boot.

Re: New batteries Antigua??

The prices in Antigua are very high - and if you have a Budget Marine account don't try getting a discount at Budget Marine there, it doesn't work.

From Antigua to St. Martin is just a short sail and the savings you will achieve for any high-ticket items are well worth the trip.

I shopped at Jolly Harbour (and then down in English Harbour as well) when my boat was stored there for the season and found some items at only slightly inflated prices; but overall sourcing things was difficult.

I agree. If you get lithium phosphate batteries, you'll be glad you did.
