Negative battery disconnect

In the process of converting to lifepo batteries...

The initial installation on our 2003 lagoon 470 has a positive and a negative master battery disconnect. Both the charge and the load Flow thru these disconnects to the batteries.

Is the negative disconnect necessary? I am thinking of bypassing the negative cutoff and converting the disconnects to plus side load and charge.

I kept a negative disconnect as a a way to further isolate the LiFePo4 if needed from lightning damage. Say if I'm at the dock or in a thunderstorm I have the ability to switch my loads to a AGM engine battery and completely isolate my LiFePO4 and it's amp counter from the rest of the wiring.
