I clearly stated the two I recommend as best were pretty much the same internally. They say "co-developed"
I believe Charles Sterling designed the circuitry and licensed to Promariner, may even share the actual motherboard produced in the same factory.
That fact does not detract in any way from their excellent quality.

If you are allowing saltwater to splash around your House bank, you do have a problem.

I’ve been using IOTA for a few years. Cost effective and you have a choice of plug in regulators

The Iota units with the IQ4 option can be very good, I believe may even be custom adjustable?

+1 for the Iota IQ4. Simple, reliable and reasonably priced.

My only recommendation, based on personal experience, is to avoid Newmar products. A relatively new PT80 failed. After an exchange of many emails, the charger was returned to Newmar in California for a very expensive repair. Now, less than a year later, the float stage has again failed. Not a happy customer.

Victron, Magnum, Mastervolt all great but pricey.
Samlex more reasonable.

The pronautic and Sterling are identicle except for the colors of the case and the name stickers put on. They were developed by two partners who then split up and went their own way each taking the same design and branding it under their own name.

My only gripe with all of them is they are not waterproof or even resistant (I know it’s a cooling issue)but you’d think they’d come up with something that can take a bucket of water without frying itself.

I have old 2 bank 10 amp 3 stage charger that is waterproof, it’s called potted all the guts are sealed away. It has sat for years in the garage and used to maintain the battery in my mustang when it’s parked for months at a time. I can’t remember the brand.

Yes low amps 10A if properly regulated is fine for a garage setting, charging Starter batts, or **maintaining** a big House bank at Full while stored.
It is not big enough for daily deep cycling of that House bank.
