takes a very long time to see if new tech makes from the lab into consumers' hands

Probably longer than your bank will last

" has developed the first all-solid-state battery cells that could lead to"

There's that weasel word again. Like john, I doubt that you will see these become a commercial reality within the lifetime of your existing battery bank.

There are other promising news from Fujitsu. Technology will be improved, there's no doubt about it.

Oh yes no doubt. But unlikely the Next Big Thing will be sprung on the market fully formed, we'll have plenty of time to check it out.

And usually best to let the pro's and deep-pocketed pioneers collect the initial arrows in their backs on our behalf.

How long since LFP hit the market? Still not rolled out enough for Joe Consumer, even after hundreds hours of research it's a risky proposition for a relative newbie like me.

Re: My LiFePO4 Battery Bank is already outdated

As a tech writer I used to read about once a month that some "new battery technogy" was about to replace the old. Very few of them have made it from the lab bench to the markeplace.
That said the investment and timeline needed to tool up and get any new technology to market is so great I think you are safe with your old batteries for a while yet.

I like how the voltage is getting higher for the more potent cells.
Maybe one day we will get an 13,3V cell... With no need or balancing.
