A couple of points that may help people wanting to buy this
regulator
There is a big gap between bulk voltages of 14.1 and 14.7. The better
solar regulators make these parameters adjustable and they need to be be if you want to get the most out of your
solar panels.
The " regular version " would be much better labeled gel only. This version is not suitable for a regular flooded
battery. The
AGM version is much more suitable for most batteries ( other than some gels).
The assumption that the
battery is fully charged the end of the bulk phase is wrong. Boat batteries operate on a very narrow range of soc, getting an extra 5 or 10% into the batteries is important to reduce the
depth of discharge. Pressing a button to restart the
charging is not practical, a
regulator should function automatically.
It's nice of the
designer to respond personally and so quickly to concerns, particularly when their is a language difference, but I would wait for the v2 version and hope some of these issues will be addressed.
