Motorola Marine Alternator

Among the spares aboard our boat is a Motorola Marine (France) Alternator marked "Type 9RC 7052". I suspect this was the original alternator that came on our 1986 Beneteau--powered by a Perkins 4-108--which was replaced with a high-output alternator by the previous owner. I have searched the web for info on this equipment, and written to Beneteau, but thus far have not been able to find anything, so I thought I would check to see if any of the Electrics Wizards here--Paul?--might have any info.

The alternator currently mounted on our engine is an externally regulated unit (by a “Smart Regulator”) that seems quite robust. If it fails, however, I would like to know how to properly mount and wire the spare. Unfortunately, electrics are not one of my strong points. Any information will be appreciated.
