Mase IS 5.0

Ohoy! Does anybody have feedback for Mase IS 5.0 generator? The unit is 5 kw, single cylinder 240v/50hz version. It is priced around AUD10-11k and I am just about to commit to buy one. Any comments?

They are built with Yanmar engines and a generic generator backend, maybe Stamford Newage.

Good stuff! But almost everything depends on local support.

I have the Mase IS 7.6. It's a Yanmar 3 cyl and a MECC Alte backend. 8 years and ~500 hours, no problems (yet).

What I worry about (but, again, had no problems) is the intercooler heat exchanger and the engine heat exchanger. The anodes are really tiny and disappear very quickly, it's very hard to keep up with them. I'm guessing they are gone within a month. I'll bet the heat exchangers are expensive ($$).

I had a Mase years ago with an Italian diesel - a piece of crap. They later switched to Yanmars.
