ok and that is now where I come in I am an independent tester that is giving reports on the performance or lack there of. And as to ah claims it seems to have been a fail but not to bad considering the per ah cost. Testing will continue.

The questions still remains of what grade cells did you get? What brand cells? Were they made by a legitimate 18650 cell maker or a low budget, no clean room, filthy contaminated factory? Are they buying and using the cheapest raw materials? Are they premium A grade cells or orphaned cells sold to the lowest bidder? We can only really put a per Ah price on known premium quality cells from legitimate quality manufacturers. The rest of the cells go to the bottom feeders to pawn off onto unsuspecting buyers. You simply can't buy the premium 18650 cells such as K2 Energy, A123/Lithium Werkz etc.. for what you got as a price delivered as a finished battery to the US.

don't have specifics without cracking the case and has a 2 year warranty so that will have to wait.

It looks like the same documentation style, my link just says "Lithium" and the buyer shows the inside components. Your specs look quite generic with no indication of battery type. If someone were to purchase, how would you know what it was?

don't know why I'm reposting this but here ya go .
Read the bottom of the picture where it says it is made with 18650 cells.
Also as with any of the cells you may purchase there is a certain amount of trust that must be in place that you are getting what is advertised.

Re: Lipo vs lifepo4

99% of 18650-style cells are not LFP.

Have you measured Full then resting voltage yet?

Re: Lipo vs lifepo4

Assuming the statement about the pack being made of 18650 cells is correct, then the question of weight and capacity also re-opens. Premium 18650 cells from a top-tier manufacturer (Panasonic) may exceed 3300mA per cell. And that won't be LiFePO4. Cheaper cells, or cells scavenged from used laptop batteries and other sources, may be as low a 1000mA but more typically 2000mA.

So what Newhaul has, is probably a perfectly good "jump box" as such. The capacity is probably just what his tests showed it to be, bearing in mind that even Lithium doesn't like to go down to a 0% SOC.

My concern would be that there's no way to know what those batteries are, or if they are new, used, or perhaps ABused from scavenged used packs. And while the really nice thing about 18650's is that if one gets excited, it is still way less of an event than a large prismatic cell getting excited...still, should that power pack perhaps be wrapped in a fire blanket or other protection?

And given the mysteries...really, planning to buy a second one? All the eggs in one basket and all that good stuff?
