LiFePO4 Electric Boats

This thread is devoted to boats whose main source of propulsion is an electric motor powered by LiFePO4 batteries.

No matter how small or large the boat is please post details here so we can build up a bank of practical experience with different boat types which have been converted to electric drive. This may give others the inspiration to try an electric boat project of their own. Please include lots of photos!

I will start with a few photos of a small 26ft electric half cabin run about which is powered by a Torqeedo Cruise 4 electric boat motor. The motor is rated at 4kW and is equivalent in power to a 10 horsepower conventional outboard. It runs off a 48V battery. In this case a LiFeTech XPS series 48V 45Ah battery with built in VMS.
The boat was on display last week at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat show and was used to show the general public the pleasure and silence (without exhaust fumes) of electric boating. Many interested boat owners were taken for short cruises and the boat certainly stood out from the crowd with many people remarking how small the electric motor is.
