LG solar panels

I has just in Martinique and I met someone who had installed 3 300 watt Lg solar panels on his davits they are 24 volt . They go through some type of controller to produce the correct voltage for his 12 volt system. It was a new system and he is happy so far. My questions are .
What do people think of the LG panels and what are the pros and cons of the 24 volt panels being used in this way.
The owner had done a fair bit of research on the system ( ex apple ) guy and was not afraid to spend on the system ,he did consider the usual front runners.
The panel part number is LG300n1k-G4.
Thanks

Re: LG solar panels

Any MPPT controller will step down the voltage to the correct levels to charge your batteries from the 24 volt (or higher voltage) solar panels. I don't know anything about the LG panels specifically but I've seen a few on other boats and seem like they are well built.

We use Genasun brand controllers but there are many brands available.
