practically speaking . . . .I have to say that the fixture with the tricolor led bulb is brighter than it was with the incandescence bulb (including at low angles) and the colors are certainly clearly identifiable as red/green/white. This would be dead easy to show to a judge/jury with a simple video comparison.

I strongly suspect your client would loose if you tried to fight me about it in court, but of course you (the lawyer) would make out like a bandit in any case with more hours at your usual fee.

But as I said, I am going to change it to a dedicated fixture the next time I pull the mast, not because of light quality, but because of RF noise issues.

So your position is that it's OK to sleep when you should be keeping watch but not to replace an incandescent lamp in a navigation light with a LED replacement that is designed and manufactured for the purpose. Correct?
