After talking to a local
alternator repair and rewinding shop, the specialist said they have modified of the kohler gensets. The ADC 2100 board is a computer with AVR which is needed to regulate the
alternator to produce 120v/240v.
Coincidently, my friend who is using 13EZOFD has a problem with his genset giving error code of CC1 and SCF0. SCF0 =
software communication fault 0 is the computer board gone bad and had to be replaced?
So this what the common modifications are made to the gensets:-
1. Remove the faulty ADC 2100.
2. Install a separate universal AVR to the alternator end. All this is done by the alternator specialist.
3. The
mechanic will handle the basic
engine side, rewiring the sensors ie low
oil pressure, low
coolant, high
engine temperature and no
raw water flow, etc to control relays to cut off the
power to solenoid. The engine speed is controlled by a mechanical governor.
Interestingly the engine block of NL for 0.762 liter comes from
Japan manufacturer which supplies to
Perkins and
Volvo.
Will keep my progress posted here on the modification.
