Internal Regulator / Alternator

been working on our Hitachi 80amp alternator and things seem to be running smoothly now, however, can any explain on the internal regulator monitors voltage? Is it via the positive battery connection, or via the RL plug/wires off the back of the alternator? Appreciate any insights.

Re: Internal Regulator/Alternator

See "The 12 Volt Doctor's Alternator Book", PDF pages 85 & 86.

T-Connection
“S” or “R” is sense or excite
“L” is alarm light or auxilary
