Installing an E-Xpert lite Battery Monitor

I have purchased an eXpert lite battery monitor for our Bavaria 36. We have two 150AHr house batteries plus a cranking battery. I would appreciate advice regarding where best to position the shunt. The options, I think, are in the negative lead 'downstream' of the two house batteries but before the cranking battery' or 'downstream' of all batteries.

There is no point in measuring the amphours used from your cranking battery as it should be nil. Cranking batteries get fully recharged about ten minutes after starting and stay charged assuming you turn the switch off at anchor or have an isolator, combiner or echo charger installed.

So put the shunt on the negative to your house battery so the monitor will only measure the house amphour use.
