I would call these AH meters.

A full-fledged BM should include settings for Peukert coefficient and CEF.

$17 is very inexpensive for 100A capacity, the ones I see on eBay are usually 2-3x that.

I prefer a true battery monitor. It may require effort to keep calibrated, but I at least want a % battery used or remaining. The amps and volts are nice to see what is happening while it is happening.

At a low enough price, great to be able to measure specific device draws, or a source's individual contribution,

as well as tracking overall bank SoC with a separate proper BM.

Think of it as an "accumulating ammeter", can be made portable by inserting Anderson plugs if there are particular circuits you want to rotate between regularly.

Anyone ever see one using clamps rather than requiring an inline shunt?
