HRSi Regulator Question

I just installed a Rutland 913 with a HRSi regulator. The manual says that before turning on the engine I should always shut off the regulator. I placed the regulator in an out of the way spot so would have to move it if needed. Does anyone have experience with this combination of regulator and wind generator?

Re: HRSi regulator question

Is this the Marlec HRSi regulator. I just had a look at their manual, no reference to isolating the regulator before starting the engine.
I have a D400 wind turbine, not sure what regulator is fitted, but never had issues with starting engine while the regulator is connected

Re: HRSi Regulator Question

I don't remember the manual saying anything about this either.

I wouldn't mind selling mine - not enough output. Is there any demand for them ?

Re: HRSi Regulator Question

thanks for replies. I contacted manufacturer and they confirmed it does not need to be turned off. I don't get much output out of mine but it is producing and with solar and a high ouput alternator I hope to be okay.
