How Many regulators

Hi All,

I have an early Rutland wind generator which works like a dream, how ever I want to add Solar power as well, the regulator takes Solar power but only up to 120w. I have x 2 100 watt panels, is it an issue to the batteries if I buy another regulator and run the panels through that direct to the batteries so essentialy have 2 charging sources. BTW if have x4 110v batteries x 2 for engine x 2 for leisure
As always, I'am in your hands!

Julian

No multiple regulators and charge sources are not an issue...most boats are setup that way.

I'm not clear what you are saying about your batteries, but I would suggest sending all charging sources direct to your "leisure" or house bank of batteries, with a device like an EchoCharge or possibly a combiner used to charge your starting battery. For most engines, a single robust starting battery is all that is needed. In other words, put as many batteries in your house bank as possible--the bigger, the better.
