If you're not trying to smelt aluminum, give the thing a chance. I don't think you have a problem.

I got your meaning. I was only offering the term and noting that I had only heard in in regards to Inverter/Chargers. I am not familiar with upper end stand alone chargers, but I would think they would have to monitor both voltage and current. Surly, if the battery was undersized wouldn't the increase in load would cause a voltage drop and require a change from the float mode?
