Mine will usually sit on the on the portside aft exhaust facing aft of course. If I know I am going to be motoring (I use it for electric propulsion) for a long time I will carry it forward. At 47 lbs I don't consider it heavy. I will place it on the leeside with the exhaust facing off that side. I can hardly hear it in the cockpit in that location. I have also built a little platform that I plan to place on my boarding ladder which I will raise to a horizontal position and the Honda will sit on that when underway. I'm still working on finishing that up.
What I really like about the 2000 is it's portability. I find it comes in handy on both sea and land:

I could see myself using it after a storm helping out some locals on land and building a lot of good will in the process too.
